Seeing Your Business Through Your Client’s Eyes
We often talk about ideal clients in terms of clarity.
Who they are.
What they need.
How we help.
But there’s another layer that matters just as much, and is often overlooked.
What is it actually like to become your client?
Not from your perspective as the business owner.
But from theirs.
Take a moment to step out of your role as the business owner, coach, or consultant.
Instead, place yourself in the position of your ideal client.
They’ve just come across your business.
Perhaps through:
a referral
a LinkedIn post
an event or conversation
your website or content
They’re interested. Curious. Potentially ready.
But they’re also busy.
Thinking. Weighing options. Managing competing priorities.
Now ask yourself:
Is it clear how to take the next step?
Does the experience feel easy and supportive?
Do they feel confident moving forward?
Because this is where your client journey becomes real.
From your perspective, your business may feel active and visible.
You’re showing up.
You’re connecting.
You’re having conversations.
But from your client’s perspective, the experience can feel very different.
Clarity, consistency and communication shape whether someone moves forward or quietly drifts away.
This is not about doing more.
It’s about ensuring the experience you create matches the level of professionalism and care you want your business to be known for.
This is the question that often changes everything.
Not:
“How do I get more leads?”
But:
“Where are leads getting lost in my current process?”
From your client’s perspective, it might look like:
An enquiry that doesn’t receive a timely response
A conversation that ends without a clear next step
Interest without guidance on what to do next
Intention to follow up… that never quite happens
No one has said no.
But no one has said yes either.
This space, between interest and action, is where many opportunities are quietly lost.
Understanding your ideal client is powerful.
Mapping their journey is even more valuable.
But without structure, even the best intentions become inconsistent.
This is where a CRM and sales pipeline become essential.
Not as a complex system.
But as a simple, supportive framework.
A CRM helps you:
track where each person is in their journey
follow up consistently and thoughtfully
reduce missed opportunities
create a smoother client experience
From the client’s perspective, this feels like:
being remembered
being supported
being guided
being valued

There is often hesitation around follow-up.
A concern that it may feel too much.
But from your client’s perspective, thoughtful follow-up rarely feels like pressure.
It feels like:
clarity
care
reassurance
professional
Your ideal client is not waiting to be chased.
They are waiting to feel confident in their decision.
And often, that confidence is supported by consistent, considered communication.
When you begin to see your business through your client’s eyes, something shifts.
You stop asking:
“How do I get more leads?”
And start asking:
“How well am I supporting the people already finding me?”
This is where:
Your ideal client journey
Your CRM and pipeline
Your follow-up process
come together.
And this is where revenue becomes more predictable.
Not because you are doing more.
But because you are supporting the journey more intentionally.
If you were your ideal client…
Where might you feel:
unsure?
unsupported?
ready, but waiting?
Those answers will often show you exactly where your next opportunity for growth lies.
Growth isn’t just about visibility.
It’s about what happens after someone finds you.
And when your systems support your client journey, your business becomes clearer, more consistent — and more sustainable.
If this has highlighted areas where leads may be getting lost, the next step is to bring clarity and structure to your business.
