Whether you're looking at your whole organisaiton or zooming in on specific areas like marketing or sales, a SWOT analysis provides clarity and direction.

What is a SWOT Analysis?

A SWOT analysis is typically presented as a 2x2 table:


- Strengths and Weaknesses (internal factors)
- Opportunities and Threats (external factors)

Here's a quick example to illustrate:

Strengths

Strong brand recognition and trust, loyal customer base.

Opportunities

Engage with younger audience segments.

Weaknesses

Perceived as out-of-date or losing relevance, ageing customer base.

Threats

Low new customer acquisition.

Why Start with a SWOT Analysis?

Beginning with a SWOT analysis helps you to:

2. Address Weaknesses: Acknowledge and work on areas that need improvement to enhance overall performance.

Setting SMART Goals

Once you have your SWOT analysis, the next step is setting clear, actionable goals. This is where SMART goals come into play. SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. By narrowing your focus to precise objectives, you increase the likelihood of success.

For example, let's say you've identified a need to engage with younger audience segments.
