It’s the end of the financial year - which means it’s time for something many business owners either dread or avoid.
Looking at the numbers.
But here’s the truth: your numbers aren’t just data. They’re feedback. They’re your business talking to you.
And just like with people, the more you listen, the stronger the relationship becomes. Which is why I recommend at our most recent Boost Your Business workshop, to take 10 to 15 minutes out of your week to regularly check your financial reports (profit and loss, balance sheet and cashflow).
Whether you’re running a solo consultancy or managing a small team, your financial reports are doing more than tracking income and expenses.
They’re showing you:
What’s working (even if it doesn’t always feel like it is)
Where the gaps are (without judgement)
How your decisions are playing out in real time
One of the most powerful mindset shifts we explored in the last 90-Day Planning Workshop was this:
“What if you checked your numbers weekly - without judgement?”
Not good. Not bad. Just a conversation starter.
Before rushing to set goals for the new financial year, take a moment to reflect.
Here are three simple questions for you to consider:
Which income stream was the strongest over the past 12 months — and why?
Who are your highest value clients?
What patterns do you notice in your highest and lowest months?
What’s one number you want to understand more deeply this year?
Is there one change you could make to improve your numbers?
This kind of reflection isn’t just about setting targets — it’s about building trust with your own data.
As we head into the second half of the year, I want to remind you that sustainable growth doesn’t come from chasing every opportunity or pushing harder.
It comes from rhythm. From structure. From clarity and small, supported steps.
That’s exactly what we do inside the Success Community — and this financial year, we’re adding a new layer.
In every Boost Your Business, 90-Day Planning Workshop moving forward, we’ll now include a dedicated segment on using AI prompts for:
Business planning
Strategic writing
Reflection on results
We’ll explore how to use tools like ChatGPT with purpose, without needing to be tech-savvy or overwhelmed.
Because it’s not about replacing your voice — it’s about embracing new ways of thinking, learning what’s possible, and moving forward with confidence instead of getting stuck in fear or falling behind.
Make time for 30 minutes to look back before you move forward.
Let your numbers speak to you — not to critique, but to guide.
And if you’re ready for structure, support, and a better way to plan, the Success Community is here for you.
Join before 30 June to save 10% on your annual membership.
You’ll also get access to our next planning workshop and mastermind session — with our new AI content included.
