This week, I found myself reflecting on something that has shaped every chapter of my business, life, and philanthropic work:
long-term relationships.
I’ve been incredibly fortunate to stay connected with people I first met in business as far back as 2007… and through every evolution since — Interactive Arts, Property with Purpose, Out of the Box Biz, and now Ask Fleur. Some relationships began in 2011, some in 2014, others in my early philanthropy work from 2017. And yet, the thread is the same: we’ve continued to grow alongside one another.
There’s something special about relationships that stand the test of time. They’re built on trust, shared experiences, and those small-but-consistent moments of showing up.
A lovely example this week:
I finally met my mortgage broker face-to-face after knowing him for around four years. We’ve spoken, emailed, and worked together for ages, but sitting across the table was different. More grounded. More human. More connected.
In that conversation, something clicked — I suddenly realised he would be perfect for a family member just starting out on their property journey. It wasn’t planned. It wasn’t on my mind. It simply emerged through that in-person connection.
And that’s the magic of genuine relationships. They open doors we didn’t even know were there.
So today, I’m feeling deeply grateful — for every long-standing connection, every shared project, every client turned friend, and every expert who has walked alongside me. These relationships aren’t just part of my business; they’re part of my story.
Here’s to staying connected, nurturing the relationships that matter, and appreciating the people who’ve walked with us through every season.
